A total of 19 political parties were on Monday published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Rivers State to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.

The polical parties and their governorship and deputy governorship candidates were part of the list.

The candidates for the All Progressives Congress(APC), Kingsley Chinda and his running mate Major M. Jack and their co-contenders from Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Sam Ejekwu/Ehuwa Kabaka as well as candidates for the African Democratic Congress(ADC), Gabriel Pidomson and Okumgba David Amapakaye made the lists.

However, for the Nigerian Democratic congress (NDC),
only the governorship candidates Dumo Lulu Briggs was on the list, while no name was listed as his running mate. Same for Boot Party (BP), which has a governorship candidate without any deputy candidate listed with him.

Some other political parties who made the lists in pairs include Accord Party, DLA, ADP, APP, SDP, PRP, YPP, AA, ZLP, NRM, among others.

The information were displayed on form EC9 indicating their particulars, including their educational qualifications among others.

The information were reportedly released at the weekend at both the INEC headquarters in Port Harcourt and escalated at the 23 council areas apparently for easy access/view by interested persons.

Also pasted on the INEC notice board were list of successful candidates for the State House of Assembly version of the election.
